Impossible to confine the history and je ne sais quoi of Los Angeles' most ensouled restaurant into a RL post so I won't even try.

With that said, I recently learned that my grandparents first visited Taix in 1974 when their friend Nicky threw a party for himself there. He had just been drafted for Vietnam and wanted what he thought would be his last meaningful meal on home soil to be their Steak Frites. Thankfully the war ended before he could be sent over, leading to another bountiful (and for obvious reasons poignant) meal in 2026!
